PADI Diving Courses

Dive Master Co., Ltd is a Padi Dive Center and offers a full range of high quality diver education programs. All of our courses are taught with an empahsis on performance. We do not rush students and like our students to feel comfortable with each skill that they are required to perform. Unlike other dive schools Dive Master's courses are not time based.

"Our policy is to present scuba diving as a safe enjoyable sport so we focus on smaller groups!"

We normally try to limit the number of students per group to 4-6 persons with 2 instructors. However, if you wish to have a private lesson of 1 or 2 persons, we will be happy to arrange it. We are prepared to be flexible to give you maximum convenience, you can choose from 09:00 till 22:00 hrs., every day or every other day or weekends only.

After completion of courses and all tests are passed, a diving certification card from PADI will be awarded. For any special requests do not hesitate to contact us!

Open Water Diver

The Padi Open Water Diver course provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to safely gain experience in the diving environment and, ultimately, to dive independently (but always with a buddy!). The course is performance based and designed to be naturally progressive.

During this course you will learn basic dive theory via workbook, video, and discussion. Your first experience with scuba equipment will be in the form of 5 confined (swimming pool) water sessions. This will give you the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of dive theory and get you used to the diving skills that you will practice and use in open water on regular dives.

From the confined sessions we venture into open water where we will make 4 open water dives. During these dives we will practice the skills from the confined sessions and then take a tour around the exciting dive sites where you can start to really enjoy the underwater realm. The Discovery channel will never be the same again!

Once you have been certified as an Open Water Diver you will naturally wish to take your diving education to the next level. We can offer the Advanced Open Water Diver as a Special Package with your Open Water Diver Course. Click on the links to read more about it.

Advanced Open Water

The Advanced Open Water Course gives you the opportunity to develop your skills as a diver. The course is made up of 2 core dives and 3 electives. The two core dives are the deep and underwater navigation dive.

These are important dives. As you progress you will want to venture deeper. The deep dive allows you to understand and appreciate diving at deeper depths with the safety of your instructor. The importance of the navigation dive can not be understated. The navigation dive will help you to find your way around dive sites by using both the compass and natural reference. With good continuous training in navigation you should be able to find your way back to the anchor line even in poor visibility! You have seen it done, now you can do it to!

There are many electives to choose from and all of them are good fun as well as enhancing your skills as a diver. Choosing three is sometimes difficult but you can always continue your education by taking a Specialty course in any of these electives.

Openwater Training 5 dives :

  • 2 core dives, Deep dive and Underwater Navigation dive.
  • 3 elective dives, select from specialty dives as following :
  • Boat dive, Drift dive, Multilevel, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery dive, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Photography dive, Wreck dive, Night dive.

This is the first in the professional level of PADI training. The role of a Divemaster is multifaceted. As a Divemaster you will be expected to show exemplary diving & rescue skills as well as a professional level knowledge of dive theory. You will be expected to plan & lead dives. This course will bring you into the world of the professional diver. The course is normally taken over a longer extended period but can be taken over 10 days if you have time constraints. For those that wish to do the course over a shorter period we recommend you to get hold of a copy of the Divemaster Manual and the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving and gain a good understanding of dive theory before starting the course. If you have the opportunity you should also try and practice some confined water skills at your local swimming pool (as you did in your open water course).

Course consists of

  • 18 Scuba Skills
  • Knowledge Development

IDC Course

Our IDC Course always includes the Emergency First Response Instructor Course & Exam

The IDC (Instructor Development Course) is designed to develop you from being a capable Divemaster into Padi Instructor. Our IDC is taken over 10 days. Completion of the course does not automatically make you an Instructor. After the IDC a Padi Examiner will come to conduct the IE (Instructors Examination). Successful completion of this examination confirms your entry into the Padi World as an OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor).

The Instructor Development Course (IDC)

To prepare you as an Instructor the course is broken down into 3 main areas:

  • Theoretical teaching techniques i.e. in the classroom.
  • Confined water teaching
  • Open water teaching.

We will make sure that by the end of your IDC not only will you have the knowledge and confidence to pass the IE, but you will go on to become a good quality instructor.

How to prepare

Practice your confined water Divemaster skills as much as possible.
Obtain a copy of the Encyclopedia of Diving and study each chapter carefully. We would highly recommend getting the CD Rom version in addition to / or as well as the paper version.

Go through each of the Padi course books from Open Water through to Divemaster.
Try and get hold of a copy of the Padi Instructor Manual. Focus on reading the General Standards & Procedures. Read through the Open Water Diver Course Instructor guide to gain a familiarization of how each course is laid out.

Purchase an IDC candidate workbook. Read through it carefully and complete the multiple choice exam at the front of the workbook. This must be completed before starting the IDC.

It is recommended that you try and start your studies at least 2 months before starting the IDC. Pre-study will make the course easier on yourself and increase your examination score rate.

Fun Fun Fun!

The IDC sounds like a lot of hard work and indeed it is! However, the course is a lot of fun and the participants normally bond as a group quite easily. You will have a great time, meet some new friends and ultimately come out as Padi Open Water Scuba Instructor!

Prerequisites

To qualify for the IDC an Individual must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or Padi Assistant Instructor.
  • Be trained in CPR with the past 24 months.
  • Had a diving license for 6 months or above.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have no less than 60 logged dives.

Note: To apply for the IE (Instructors Examination) you must have been diving for no less than 12 months and have logged a minimum of 100 dives. Normally the IE is taken directly after the IDC. However, you may wait up to one year after completing an IDC before taking the IE.

Please note: all IDC candidates must have your own personal scuba equipment. The equipment you will need is: BCD, Regulator set including octopus, Fins, Boots, Mask, Snorkel, Dive Knife, Compass, & Wet-suit. For those students that do not yet own their equipment we have a large collection of gear available in many styles, colours, & sizes.

All IE candidates must have their own personal up to date Padi Instructor Manual & Recreational Dive Planner (both wheel & table). It is impossible to take the exams without them! We can offer these products at very reasonable prices for our IDC candidates.
